Reading is Fundamental

Incompleteness: The Proof and Paradox of Kurt Godel
The full impact of Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorem on everyday life and ways of thinking have yet to be felt. This accessible introduction explores the meaning for a lay audience and explores some of the philosophical implications. A warmup before tackling Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid.

Breaking the Spell : Religion as a Natural Phenomenon
Daniel Dennett’s newest book tries to understand religion as a natural phenomenon that may have developed because it confers some evolutionary advantage. Just published four days ago.

Concepts: A ProtoTheist Quest for Science-Minded Skeptics
The author, Paul Carleton, finds the source of religious belief in the so-called Life Urge, which seems to be an innate drive for life that believers misconstrue as God. Carleton has no academic credentials in this field, and the book appears to be a painstakingly-researched labor of love.

Juno Goes Digital

Looks as though Juno.co.uk have opened the doors on their digital distribution effort, starting with a whole lot of Adjust releases. You can buy individual tracks for £1.49 (USD2.67) encoded at 320kbps, or 4 tracks of a release for £4.49. Or buy a vinyl record for £0.50 more! You see? They pass the savings on to you! Truly, the age of the Internet has arrived, when we can save £0.50 on a record.

On the other hand, the Red & Blue track linked above is set for release on February 13 and only shows up in RSS feeds. This could very well be a glitch.
